Overview

Participation in this research session is entirely voluntary. You can refuse to answer any questions or withdraw at any stage. The researcher may also decide to stop the session at any time. This will not affect your anonymity or any incentive that has been offered. 

Information we want to collect

We need your comments and feedback to help make HMRC services better. To help us analyse and share our findings, we take notes in every session and people from the project team will be observing. 

We may record video and audio of you, record the screen, take photographs during the session, these will be used by the project team for analysis. HMRC will not be able to provide copies of the recording or transcripts as they contain confidential HMRC information. 

How we ensure your privacy and treat data

Only people from the project team will be observing the session and they may watch the recordings and read the transcripts in the future. We use your feedback in reports to share our findings within HMRC and the wider government but your data will be anonymous. 

We may include video, audio clips, photographs or transcripts when sharing feedback with people inside HMRC and wider government to improve our services. They will not be shared outside the government.

Your agreement

For the purpose of this research project we require consent for these actions.

I consent to HMRC collecting and sharing the following data from this session:

  • Audio recording to be used for research and analysis
  • Screen recording to be used for research and analysis
  • Video recording or photographs to be used for research and analysis
  • Any video, audio or photographs can be shown to people inside HMRC and the wider government when sharing feedback
  • Any transcripts can be shown to people inside HMRC and the wider government when sharing feedback
  • Members of the project team to observe the session
  • I have received, read and understood the Privacy Notice
  • I agree to take part in the research session
